Avista OSCAR Restores Nanofiltration System
Substantial Savings in Membrane Replacement Costs and Downtime.
BACKGROUND
A seawater plant operator was experiencing issues with its nano-filtration plant, which showed poor permeate flow and poor rejection.
A membrane was sent to the Avista™ Center of Excellence for autopsy and the problem was identified as a breakthrough of incompatible coagulant from the multi-media filter upstream. This kind of foulant is extremely persistent, usually requires extensive cleaning protocols to remove, and often renders membrane elements irrecoverable.
Download our full case study to find out how the Avista™ Center of Excellence was able to recover membranes that were heavily fouled using the OSCAR process. These elements would otherwise have been disposed of.
