The Avista CoE will be hosting two events from September 11th-23rd, 2023: Technical Champion Program (TCP) in week one and the Technical Xtension Program (TXP) in week two.

September 11th-15th, 2023

The Avista CoE Technical Champion Program is a 5-day intensive program consisting of group presentations and discussions, hands-on workshops, and team projects. This is an opportunity for champions to collaborate with their peers on best practices for developing comprehensive troubleshooting plans to optimize customers’ membrane systems.

TCP OBJECTIVES

1. The ’Why‘ behind what we do – Master the Avista Approach: Get a 360 view and understanding of system operations, design, chemical selection and application.
2. We learn by doing – experience hands-on troubleshooting: Practical system audit training on system data collection and analysis, full element troubleshooting and advanced cleaning techniques.
3. Optimize each opportunity – strengthen system optimization strategies: Improve system-specific strategies through interactive case challenges and methods for creating shared value (CSV) using Avista membrane treatment solutions.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND THIS TRAINING?

Technical Champions are individuals who serve as primary technical support contact: troubleshoot, normalize, and analyze membrane performance data, supervise customer site cleanings, and pilot studies to optimize membrane performance and evaluate the application and performance of membrane treatment solutions.

The Avista CoE Technical Xtension Program is a modular 5-day program with three tracks:

Track 1: Foulant Identification: This track will focus on the membrane dissection process, analytical methods used to determine foulant composition, laboratory-scale cleaning study methodology, and report writing.

Track 2: Off-site Cleaning and Restoration: This track will discuss the OSCAR process from membrane receipt to return shipping.

This practical training will teach technical service technicians a consistent approach to test methods, data collection and analysis, produce service reports and more. The training method includes group presentations and discussions, hands-on workshops, and team projects. This is an opportunity for champions to collaborate with their peers on best practices for developing comprehensive troubleshooting plans to optimize customers’ membrane systems.

TXP OBJECTIVES

2. We learn by doing: Practice standard procedures.
3. Optimize each opportunity – strengthen system optimization strategies: Deliver reports on with system-specific strategies through interactive case challenges.

Foulant Identification Track:

• Membrane dissection for autopsy and foulant analysis
• Analytical methods for organic material (Loss on ignition testing, microscope analysis, biological activity testing, FT-IR)
• Analytical methods for inorganic material (FT-IR, CEI / EDS)
• Cell testing and laboratory-scale cleaning study
• Flat sheet damage testing
• Report writing for effective summary of results
• Off-Site Cleaning and Restoration

The OSCAR Work Flow Track:

• Membrane receipt and entry into Filemaker (Filemaker online)
• Safety-membrane handling, chemical disposal
• Hands on pre-test, cleaning, and post-test

• Cell Tester for cleaner validation with lab personnel

WHO SHOULD ATTEND THIS TRAINING?

Xtension Technical Champion candidates are individuals who conduct technical services for their region or Kurita Group Company and serve as primary technical service contact.

They support services to maintain sales of existing clients as well as services to support services for prospective clients.
