Avista Technologies Introduces New AvistaClean™ Microfiltration (MF) and Ultrafiltration (UF) Cleaners
San Marcos, CA – August 8, 2023 — Avista Technologies, Inc. now offers new AvistaClean™ cleaners designed for effective and economical removal of common fouling observed in MF/UF membrane systems.
The membrane treatment industry relies on generic chemicals, such as citric acid, sodium hypochlorite, and caustic for MF/UF hollow-fiber systems that over time create two problems: they fail to recover the desired transmembrane pressures (TMP) which lead to an increase in cleaning frequency and/or the membranes stop working due to age and require replacement as they are no longer responding to generic chemicals.
What makes AvistaClean MF/UF cleaners unique? AvistaClean targeted solutions are formulated to reduce the trans-membrane pressure (TMP) in hollow-fiber MF/UF systems. They can be used for recovery cleans or even for maintenance cleans based on existing system performance. AvistaClean MF/UF cleaners include low-foaming, multicomponent cleaners that contain surfactants, buffers, chelants and builders for an enhanced cleaning performance that’s faster than generic chemicals. The line carries both liquid and powder forms available in low and high pH ranges for ease-of-use and application. These specialty cleaners are buffered to achieve and maintain target pH, providing optimum, fast acting cleans.
The AvistaClean product line creates shared value for our customers and the environment by reducing cleaning frequency and water use, as well as extending membrane life and reducing membrane replacement waste.
The AvistaClean MF/UF cleaner line is available in North America including AvistaClean P0327 (powder cleaner for high metal fouling), AvistaClean L0381 (liquid cleaner for high metal fouling), AvistaClean L1181 (liquid cleaner for calcium complexes and calcium sulfate, specifically mining), AvistaClean P1219 (powder cleaner for stubborn organics, particles), AvistaClean L1221 (liquid cleaner for organics, particles), and AvistaClean P1200 (powder cleaner for organics).
