Municipal Bid Responsibilities:

  • Manage entire municipal bid process from bid document review, preparation to submission
  • Analyze wins and losses of bids and suggest necessary strategy adjustments as needed
  • Keep accurate record of existing contracts
  • Track existing and new pricing changes or opportunities on municipal bids
  • Create and maintain a municipal bid calendar that identifies upcoming RFP’s and current contract renewal dates.
  • Research past winning bids for upcoming RFP’s in order to create a competitor pricing strategy
  • Coordinate and respond to RFP’s (Request For Proposals)


Inside Sales Responsibilities:

  • Work with regional Application & Sales managers to develop sales opportunities with the existing and new customer base
  • Understand the Avista product line and how each chemical is selected and applied
  • Increase sales opportunities through professional communication with existing and new clients (manage and interpret customer requirements to understand, anticipate and meet their needs)
  • Maintain sales of existing clients by managing and reducing attrition
  • Network with peers in the industry, particularly those that can generate sales leads
  • Maintain records of customer communications in OneDrive file system
  • Maintain awareness of client information including: future plans, payment performance; communicate any client decisions that may affect Avista sales strategies
  • Maintain knowledge of competitor products and identify and report intelligence on competitor pricing or marketing strategies as they become known
  • An administrative assistant may report to this position that will be in charge of quotes for products and services to North American customers


Required Education and Experience: 

  • 3 to 5 years membrane industry experience
  • 3 to 5 years inside sales experience
  • Solid understanding of municipal or industrial bid process
  • High School Diploma, college degree preferred
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Quickbooks
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Powerpoint and Outlook
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to perform and produce results while maintaining positive relationships
  • Strong attention to details


Job Location: San Marcos, CA

Salary Range: $80,000 – $90,000
