Municipal Bid Responsibilities:
- Manage entire municipal bid process from bid document review, preparation to submission
- Analyze wins and losses of bids and suggest necessary strategy adjustments as needed
- Keep accurate record of existing contracts
- Track existing and new pricing changes or opportunities on municipal bids
- Create and maintain a municipal bid calendar that identifies upcoming RFP’s and current contract renewal dates.
- Research past winning bids for upcoming RFP’s in order to create a competitor pricing strategy
- Coordinate and respond to RFP’s (Request For Proposals)
Inside Sales Responsibilities:
- Work with regional Application & Sales managers to develop sales opportunities with the existing and new customer base
- Understand the Avista product line and how each chemical is selected and applied
- Increase sales opportunities through professional communication with existing and new clients (manage and interpret customer requirements to understand, anticipate and meet their needs)
- Maintain sales of existing clients by managing and reducing attrition
- Network with peers in the industry, particularly those that can generate sales leads
- Maintain records of customer communications in OneDrive file system
- Maintain awareness of client information including: future plans, payment performance; communicate any client decisions that may affect Avista sales strategies
- Maintain knowledge of competitor products and identify and report intelligence on competitor pricing or marketing strategies as they become known
- An administrative assistant may report to this position that will be in charge of quotes for products and services to North American customers
Required Education and Experience:
- 3 to 5 years membrane industry experience
- 3 to 5 years inside sales experience
- Solid understanding of municipal or industrial bid process
- High School Diploma, college degree preferred
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Quickbooks
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Powerpoint and Outlook
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to perform and produce results while maintaining positive relationships
- Strong attention to details
Job Location: San Marcos, CA
Salary Range: $80,000 – $90,000
